Absinto Camargo, Brazil“s premiere absinthe, uses an original French absinthe recipe (circa 1900), combining nine herbs for a distinct, nuanced flavor: Artemisia pontica, aniseed, star anis, fennel, hyssop, angelica root, melissa and coriander. These herbs also have unique medicinal properties. Tradicional absinthe was made with Artemisia absinthium (wormwood). In the old days, distillation was fast and uncontrolled - often producing a toxic concoction - wich probably caused hallucinations and led to its prohibition in the US in 1912. Absinto Camargo does not contain wormwood in order to comply with the US FDA regulations. |
